6 days froyo free
Not to be confused with 6 days of free froyo. Sadly.
I am damn impressed with myself. I haven’t even thought about cheating.
Who am I? Do you have any idea how many McDonald’s, Starbucks and frozen yogurt joints there are in Phoenix?!

I teach tactless high schoolers for a living.
So you can only imagine how scared I was to come to school today with about half an inch of hair.
But, surprise! So far I’ve been called …
Sophisticated, beautiful, a model, fresh, etc.
One student—one of my favorites—walked in and basically had a heart attack. He ran back into the hall and told everyone to come check out my “high fashion” hair. He said...

Eats for the week
In the past 24 hours, I have cooked an insane amount of food. I also spent it with two of my favorite people.
With Sara:
Sweet pork tenderloin with lime and chipotle, zucchini and quinoa
Meyer lemon cake bars (treats for her family party)
Chocolate cake pops
With Allie:
Pumpkin protein bars
Carrot cake protein bars
Chocolate-almond butter protein balls
With me, myself and I:
More quinoa

WOD 7 minutes of burpees
I think I’m going to get in on this.
And I’m going to make Allie join me.
And then we’re going to climb lots of stadium stairs.
Sorry, Allie.

Lent day 2/45
I survived day one. I’m pretty sure I deserve a party. Or at least a high five?
Let’s be honest. It’s been months since I went without one of the trifecta sacrifices.
Yesterday was great. Stronglifts in the morning with Kelsey, a relatively easy day of teaching, upper body torture with Brandon and then date night with Jo!
I trained hard, ate well, didn’t snack at...

Conversations with my trainer
Celeste: I've gained six pounds since January started.
Brandon: Well, you have been focusing more on weights than running.
Celeste: ... My pants don't fit.
Brandon: Because of your legs? They're getting stronger.
Celeste: No, because of my back fat!

Hardest upper body workout ever
The finisher: 10 push ups
I fell on my face on the first one.
For reference: I generally do 100+ push ups every morning.
Can’t move my arms. Every week I think Brandon’s given me the gnarliest workout ever. But the next week he always proves me wrong haha. Bless his heart!

The season of sacrifice
For Lent, I am giving up four things:
1. frozen yogurt
2. McDonald’s ice cream cones
3. Starbucks frappuccinos
4. self hate
The first three are pretty self explanatory, and I’ve explained my abominable addiction to them ha.
No. 4 is going to be difficult, but I need to give this up, immediately. I constantly think negatively about myself. I may not voice it here, but...

Lent: Day One
47,700 seconds since my last froyo.
It seems like just yesterday…
God help me. Literally.

Tax question
So, I write about health and fitness for publication. A lot.
Can I deduct any health and fitness-related items? Race fees, gym dues, supplements, anything? If I’m writing about these things, I feel like it must be “business related.”
Grasping for straws? Being self-employed is such a tax pain. Ugh.

Tomorrow is "sports day" of spirit week...
I can finally come to school as myself!
Every other teacher will have a football jersey on … and I’ll be wearing running shorts.

I'm at a weird place right now.
In October, I ran the Long Beach Half Marathon. My time? 1:53, and I kicked myself for not trying harder. It felt like a training run! My body was healthy and happy, and I ran my first 15-miler within a week of my race. I started training for the IMS Marathon in February.
November came and introduced high-mileage weeks. It was amazing. Five runs a week. No pain. Good times, good runs.
Then,...

I set my alarm for 6:15 ... p.m.
So obviously I didn’t run.
Not sure if that’s a sign that I’m not supposed to run … or just a continuation of my epically terrible day.

And to you, my brothers and sisters...
celestegivesup:
Last June, I decided to give up some extra pounds. I joined a gym, took up running (again) and became mindful of my eating habits. I was determined to lead a healthier lifestyle.
It’s been good. Better than good. I ran my first half-marathon in a respectable time. I’ve lost weight and inches. I am confident and proud of who I am and my appearance for the in my life. I feel...

The only thing worse than Mumford and Sons

People I know. From the Internet.
Celeste: I'm going to wine country with my favorite tumblrs.
Josiah: I want to go too!
Celeste: No, that's weird.
Josiah: Fine, I'll go to wine country too. With people I know.

What a reputation!
gumbomoon replied to your photo: Blood orange. Good lord I miss Italy.
My very fave! Just came across a photo of a blood orange tart with salted whiskey caramel glaze. Thought of you immediately!
I love when people see a delicious dessert and think of me. :)

Supportive husbands.
Celeste: My pants are too tight now.
Josiah: You bought them too tight to begin with.
BRB, never eating again.
Two months ago, Josiah told me I should gain some weight. Now, he’s giving me a complex. Great.
