June goals, revisited

Well, I successfully completed 10 out fo 16 June goals. It could be worse! I’m excited to write my July goals tomorrow and come up with some new challenges. I think I’m going to narrow my scope of goals a little too. There were kind of a lot here haha. Live and learn. :)

Running:

  • Hit weekly mileage (15, 16, 16, 17)  I actually did 16, 16, 21, 18
  • Complete at least 1 long run and 1 speed/tempo workout per week
  • Sign up for and race a 5 or 10K
  • Run a sub-23 minute 5K

Fitness:

  • Diversify cross-training (no more than 100 spin miles a week) Only went over once on my spinning miles
  • Do one chin up

Food:

  • Grill at least twice a week - I started off well, but haven’t grilled in the past week!
  • Consume veggies at two meals per day
  • Keep nutrition in check by logging while on vacation I lost weight on vacation!
  • Post one meal photo and recipe per week

Life:

  • Go on at least two trips - Just one :(
  • Lighten up and have a better attitude
  • Read one fiction book and one non-fiction book per week I need to tally up how many I read, but it was definitely 10+ (nerd!)

Career:

  • Update story idea database during first week
  • Submit at least five queries to regional and national magazines - FAIL
  • Brainstorm and seriously think about future careers in food and fitness - I thought a lot, but didn’t come up with anything good!

June goals

Yes, there are a lot. But come on — I’m on summer vacation, so I have a lot of time on my hands. I tried to make these as quantifiable as possible so I can really hold myself accountable.
